Was It @ "De@th or M@rri@ge Ceremony"???

Last two days b@ck, I witnessed completely @n weird situation. Even I w@s re@lly baffled within me & myself. Unfortunately, wife of one of a good worker in our f@ctory passed @w@y. Usually I  do not like to attend death funerals as I always fail to give the word of consolation to people in c@se of loss. But @t the last moment, in instruction of my colleagues, I ch@nged my mind & being resident of @ different state ultimately decided to witness the kind of ritu@ls in c@se of de@th followed here in T@miln@du. When I reached @t the spot, I w@s totally confused @t the beginning, whether I was approaching towards some silence caused of de@th or @ m@rri@ge ceremony. People @t the front were all busy in putting fire on cr@ckers, b@nd party w@s also invited on the occ@sion, some part of the crowd was busy on the d@nce floor in tune of the drum with liquors. All together, truly @ horrible condition, which was h@unting me repeatedly , wh@t w@s going on as I w@s un@ble to relate the occ@sion with @ single pile of s@dness ? When I came back, I asked my colleagues, whether these grotesque processes @re followed in c@se of every death. They proudly confirmed me while s@ying "YES! THIS THE WAY TO HAVE THE SOUL TO REST IN PE@CE". At the end of the d@y, I re@lized th@t different parts, different nooks & corner of my same country "INDIA" comprise of different culture even in terms of following ritu@ls in case of de@th. We @ll @re living in 21st century, so my call is- "How much it's justified to celebrate even a de@th while @t the s@me time following the logic that the Soul must rest in Pe@ce"? "Will they re@lly rest in pe@ce if this ugly & bizz@re methodology is pursued"? M@y be you can refer it as criticism or disp@r@gement while re@ding it and remember that my intention was not to hurt a particul@r sentiment or down a p@rticul@r culture,  but I must share that I c@n smell abject poverty & non-education out of it.

  1. Strange for us but perhaps that's the way for them..
Well.. In this case, I wud say that yes.. the soul wud rest in peace if they perform such ceremony in that particular way.. because the soul itself was a part of those people & that culture when it was living.. So, probably, the soul wud get disappointed if such ceremony is not performed..! :)
    --Jokes apart--
I agree that people need to be educated on this subject.. but can't say how many of them will give their thumbs up to 'our understanding of a death ceremony..'! --fingers crossed--
