Was It @ "De@th or M@rri@ge Ceremony"???

Last two days b@ck, I witnessed completely @n weird situation. Even I w@s re@lly baffled within me & myself. Unfortunately, wife of one of a good worker in our f@ctory passed @w@y. Usually I  do not like to attend death funerals as I always fail to give the word of consolation to people in c@se of loss. But @t the last moment, in instruction of my colleagues, I ch@nged my mind & being resident of @ different state ultimately decided to witness the kind of ritu@ls in c@se of de@th followed here in T@miln@du. When I reached @t the spot, I w@s totally confused @t the beginning, whether I was approaching towards some silence caused of de@th or @ m@rri@ge ceremony. People @t the front were all busy in putting fire on cr@ckers, b@nd party w@s also invited on the occ@sion, some part of the crowd was busy on the d@nce floor in tune of the drum with liquors. All together, truly @ horrible condition, which was h@unting me repeatedly , wh@t w@s going on as I w@s un@ble to relate the occ@sion with @ single pile of s@dness ? When I came back, I asked my colleagues, whether these grotesque processes @re followed in c@se of every death. They proudly confirmed me while s@ying "YES! THIS THE WAY TO HAVE THE SOUL TO REST IN PE@CE". At the end of the d@y, I re@lized th@t different parts, different nooks & corner of my same country "INDIA" comprise of different culture even in terms of following ritu@ls in case of de@th. We @ll @re living in 21st century, so my call is- "How much it's justified to celebrate even a de@th while @t the s@me time following the logic that the Soul must rest in Pe@ce"? "Will they re@lly rest in pe@ce if this ugly & bizz@re methodology is pursued"? M@y be you can refer it as criticism or disp@r@gement while re@ding it and remember that my intention was not to hurt a particul@r sentiment or down a p@rticul@r culture,  but I must share that I c@n smell abject poverty & non-education out of it.

workers' struggle

I would like to highlight the plight of the workers in recent industries in a precise manner. Recent uproar & upheavals in Maruti Suzuki help to reflect the same which I am talking about. Decision of the Suzuki Top management to reduce the various components of salaries despite taking authorized leave and to go against the workers' demand to create a trade union to voice their concern and protest is really draconian. After so many years of establishment of the plant, they are now imposing upon the workers to sign a good code of conduct. Does not it mean that existing rules so far in the organization is having no provision to punish any misconduct or indiscipline? After the liberalization of economy and consequent ascendancy of crony capitalism have brought up many changes in the labor scenario. In today's era, the basic right of labors to form a trade union or to protest against some invidious practice against the oppressive capitalist culture is being trampled upon with every impunity. That's why, the ill is prevailing throughout the country and in maximum organization we can witness the existence of contract labors who are for a transitory period.

SECULARISM.......

Rajinder Sachar Committee have pledged for the reservation of Muslim Community. They have highlighted the condition of 86% Muslims' income level not exceeding than Rs. 20/- a day, while Ranganath Misra Commission have also exhorted for the same. It seems to be imperative for any sensitive government to implement this provision without any loss of time, but the matter needs to be a great concern to be contemplated. Our constitution always balks at every kind of discrimination. Exclusion from the fruit of development is also a form of discrimination. But poverty and deprivation are completely secular concepts where must not be any religious bearing. If somebody is getting deprived of social development or is not allowed to partake of the benefits from constitutional aspect, it must be considered as a legal flaw but not the religious one. Irrespective of any particular religion, caste or creed we need to uplift, upgrade pr help the people who are socially, economically or educationally backward so far in the nation. Making reservation is only a divisive approach and for the reserved quota, it will only create more dependence upon the government. There are so much slackness existing in the nation to implement the policies, regulations which only remain sound on paper. There are lack of co-ordination amongst the different agencies, while overlapping mandates, policy gaps which need to be bridged. There is acute governance failure in several areas of public service delivery. So, the private actors, private players, and civil society must come forward, shouldering some responsibility in order order to achieve zero tolerance towards corruption and to avoid the pervasiveness of the phenomenon to uplift the backward class. Trying to make a particular religion as a ground for the targeted intervention will be going against the principle of secularism which is already enshrined in the constitution.
